I worked collaboratively in a team of 5 students to design and test a proof of concept of a wall-mountable UV phone sanitizer for CleanSlate UV. The design reduced hospital-acquired infections and protected patients with compromised immune systems. The team followed an engineering design process that included:

  • - Defining scope and requirements per client’s request
  • - Performing literature review and conducting a market research study
  • - Multiple iterations of conceptual design generation
  • - Industrial design generation
  • - Pilot tests, UX studies, mock-ups, and stress analysis to assess proof of concept
  • - Industrial design generation
  • - Weekly client meetings to review progress and schedule

The solution killed 99.9% of infectious bacteria and had a payback period of 3.7 months.
